MEME

Journal Entry: Tue Sep 2, 2008, 9:19 PM
Good news, everyone! We all survived the hurricane. Now back to business. This is just a repost of the original journal so I can keep my promise of featuring the meme participants :D

Short journal today. I made a meme about a month ago that was meant to help artists practice their ability to express emotions on a character's face. I was hoping to get as many people participating in this as possible so that one day I might be able to make a book collecting one page from various artists as somewhat of a keepsake. I don't think I promoted it all that much and was a little sad that only a few people did it (all of which were awesome btw) but I would really like you to draw your characters into the meme and see how you do with emotions. I hope it's fun for you. As a little incentive to be a part of it, I will feature every single one in my journal for those of you who want it. It's not a contest or anything. It's just going to be a book/keepsake for myself just in case one day I am no longer on DA. If you know anyone else who would be interested in this, please let them know. Also, if you do it, send me a note just in case I miss it on the devwatch. Thanks, guys. :D

Hurricane Gustav

Journal Entry: Sun Aug 31, 2008, 7:41 PM
Hey, guys. I know most of you are nowhere near where I live, but I live in Mississippi and I'm in the path of Hurricane Gustav. I may lose internet (along with power, water, air, plumbing, etc.) and will likely not be able to post any comics for a while. If you comment to me and I don't answer, I'm not ignoring, I just can't get to the internet because I'm going to be too busy surviving. For those of you who are friends with :iconbryarrose: or :icontomcat52897: they will be in the same boat. Don't worry too much about us because we survived Hurricane Katrina and it was far worse than what this one is going to be. On the other hand, if you don't hear from me within a few weeks, I'm probably dead, so sorry if you don't get the last few comics to SC. From what I understand, we're only on the edge of the hurricane's path, but Louisiana is about to get smashed really bad, so remember them in your prayers.

Have a good one, you guys and I'll see you soon (assuming I'm alive by that point) :D

MEME, ANYONE?

College, Comics, and All That Good Stuff

Journal Entry: Thu Aug 21, 2008, 8:41 AM
COLLEGE: Well, I'm back in college now and already I'm facing a number of challenges. I've got to get a special Apple Macintosh laptop for the class (which can range anywhere from $1500 to $3000). Those prices are outrageous! I've met all of my professors and the majority of them are cool. One guy seems a little edgy, but I'm not going to judge the man from just one meeting. Maybe I'll get to know him better, considering I've got THREE classes that he teaches. Most of the important classes were full, so I'm having to talk my way into one and I had to give up my Photoshop class to take one of the foundation courses. *sigh* I've messed up a lot when it comes to college. I waited a year after graduating High School to go to college. I did one year of Art, then changed my major to Business for one year, dropped out for a year, and here I am back as a Graphics major. Most of my high school classmates are graduating now and as far as my major is concerned, I'm only in my second year. It's been a rough week so far.

COMICS: Anyway, on the lighter side, I've got a nice little collection of Trash Can comics ready for daily dispersment and the "Blood King Saga" is almost over, so you won't have to be wondering who else is going to die for much longer. (Note: the characters aren't permanently dead, so please don't get freaked out and think I'm going to end the series on a depressing note, because I'm not. It is supposed to be a comedy after all). I'm still working on "The Kingdom Gates". I'm not as close to being finished with it as I had hoped, but I may begin posting them anyway. Not sure yet.

PRIORITY: But I'm giving you guys the heads up now, now that I'm back in school, it MUST be my first priority and I will not be able to post as often. I'm going to keep "Trash Can" running semi-regularly. "Simple Complications" will probably be done by the first week of September and I'll probably delay "The Kingdom Gates" for a little while until I'm certain I can post the whole story without big gaps in between.

EXTRA: Assuming that by some miracle I'll occasionally have some spare time, I will have a new surprise this year for you guys in October as a new Cartoon Monsters-Related story. It'll basically be a cartoon/horror fanfic. I've never written a fanfic before and it's going to definitely be a DAexclusive (because I'll never be able to get rights to publish it) so this is going to be for guys and you guys only.

So, to those of you who managed to read this far, thanks for your time and I hope you have a great day! :D

And check these out too, done by :iconwolfboy300: [link] & [link] !

Also, I created my very first meme ( [link] )and I hope you guys will be interested in participating, because I think it's great practice.

=================================================================

Okay, we're now in the second half of the "Blood King Saga" and I'm working as hard as I can to finish it well.

I promise to make some new "Trash Can" comics for you guys. I keep forgetting to update them.

And not long from now "The Kingdom Gates" will begin.

And a couple other comic-related projects are in the works.

(I really wish I knew how to make a website. This DA account is starting to get really crowded)

Anyway, I go back to college this weekend and (unfortunately) because of financial strain, I have to move back into the dorms. But it's okay. I can save money on gas :)

Have a good day, guys.
