Unused SIMPLE COMPLICATIONS Title Cards by simpleCOMICS Unused SIMPLE COMPLICATIONS Title Cards by simpleCOMICS
I often make title cards that ultimately get scrapped in favor of new versions. I thought you might like to see what some of the scrapped title cards look like, that never made it to deviantart.

Also, I don't have anything to post for the weekend, so this seemed like an appropriate time for a behind-the-scenes post.

Note: Under "Expect Anything" I meant to say "instead of six" but I said "instead of three". Too lazy to change it.

Seeing this picture I realise exactly how many times your style has changed XD

6 times

But I don't count the title cards, because sometimes I'll make the title cards in a different style just for fun.

This is great!

For Seth's Great Discovery, I'm glad you changed this, because Chucky's Face SCARES the crap out of me. 0_0 lol

For Operation: Yellow though, I really thought that Bobby, Ed and Harold will discover Chucky since they were in this cover. But now this shows that the 3 will have a big new arc after The Chucky Saga. XD

I love the changes you made and how you explain your thought process on each one. Shows all of us fans exactly how much work you put into this and makes us love you even more. ^_^

to parody the dvd was just such a good idea. Loved that one.
oh and for the Seth's Great Discovery/Now and Then change, makes alot of sense and gave me a big smile by the end of the chapter. Thanks for that.
Chic-Flicked is still one of my fav covers.
And the Operation Yellow changes were definatly for the better. But let's be honest, us old readers kinda saw the Nick thing coming when you used the word Yellow. :p lol

Here's to another great year. :)

Yeah, I know I wasn't exactly being subtle when I included the word yellow.

I like the In the Name of Science and the Seth's Great Discovery arc covers. Hopefully you can utilize those layouts in another one someday.

In a way I did "In the Name of Science" again in the "Travel In Style" chapter. But maybe.

I actually liked the original "Out Of Control," "Ed's Intro" and "Seth's Discovery" covers better.

Also, I still think that the "Expect Anything" cover looks like the album cover for Queen's The Miracle. :XD:

I did a few variations of "Seth's Discovery" before just starting from scratch. And yes I agree., Expect Anything does have that look to it :D

I'm actually going to recycle a part of it for a future title card (the time machine on the top).

I do like the "In the Name of Science!", "A Short Trilogy" and "Seth's Great Discovery" covers. The rest I agree were vastly improved.

I'm getting a vibe of negativity here and I'm not really sure why. Are you really that upset that I stopped making that comic?

i WAS! i have gotten over it long ago, but reading it saying "almost never got made" just causes the bad memories to wake up.

i wouldn't mind, but the fact it's drawn in the style just didn't help.

I personally think the unused title cover for the first chapter is pretty cool... and no offence, but I can see why you didn't use the other title card for MLB:TSIM.
